Everyone Village now accepting applications

We are actively recruiting people currently staying in RVs and tents in West Eugene, 13th & Chambers, and Washington Jefferson Park.

Everyone Village will be a safe, sheltered community adjacent to Mattie Reynolds park in West Eugene providing residents with 24/7 staffing and an effective mutual benefit model for the surrounding community. With strong community partnerships, we have developed a plan to improve the property and provide meaningful opportunities to participate in the development of our model.

The site will be fenced to control access, and dwellings will be adequately spaced and parked in designated spots according to an architect-designed site plan. Common spaces will have restrooms, clean water, electricity, and a wastewater disposal area will be connected to the sewer. Residents can bring their own unit or select from available microshelter options.

As part of the agreement with the City, Everyone Village and site residents will be expected to keep the site tidy, refrain from disruptive behavior, and be good neighbors. In addition to shelter, residents at Everyone Village will receive customized instruction to increase individual stability and access to “first rung” hands-on work experience in preparation for community employment, targeted job training, or vocational and educational programs.

Integral to the village model are community benefit projects that add to a sense of place, improved security, and community resiliency supports. We are currently seeking community-minded residents who want to participate in the first wave of village building.

Ideal applicants will bring their own hopes and dreams for creating better systems of support for themselves and others in the houseless community.

Applicants must be willing to participate in achieving their own goals as well as those of the Village.

To complete our pre-screening process, please complete the form linked here and someone from our Navigation Team will contact you when Everyone Village intake and application period begins in December 2021. Completing this form does not immediately qualify you for residency at Everyone Village, but it will fast-track your consideration for a final intake interview.

NOTE: Applicants who are accepted into the Village will be required to complete a background check. We follow an individualized approach, considering the specifics of an applicant’s criminal history before deciding whether or not to extend an invitation to live at the village. We will assess the nature and severity of an individual’s conviction, along with the amount of time that has passed since the conviction. The intention of our policy will be to minimize the risk of any disparate impact to individuals while also reducing the risk to existing residents, property and neighborhood. A person who is clearly a proven threat to others would not be considered.
